The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner handles cases for three southern Arizona counties. Based out of Tucson, Ariz., the PCOME staff handle a growing number of migrant deaths including unidentified bodies.
Personal effects including clothing, documents, and personal items, can lead to circumstantial identifications. Then staff at the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner works to verify the identifications through medical information including dental records, fingerprints, or DNA.
